Copyright (c) 2026 Ben Jones. All rights reserved.
This licence covers the NESA Marking Report Chrome extension, its companion broker service, and the design, source code, configuration, response mappings, marking rules, data pipeline, documentation and visual design that make them up (together, "the Software"). The Software is licensed, not sold. By installing or using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
You may install and use the Software only if you are employed by the NSW Department of Education and use it in the course of your teaching duties. No other person or organisation may use the Software without the prior written permission of the copyright holder.
Subject to these terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
Except as expressly permitted above, or by law that cannot be excluded by agreement, you may not, and may not permit or assist anyone else to:
The Software is protected by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and international treaties. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Nothing in this licence transfers ownership of the Software or grants any right to use the name of the copyright holder or of Tempe High School.
The extension bundles open-source components, including the Ace editor, pdfmake, html-to-pdfmake, Pyodide (with the Python standard library), sql.js and the Roboto Mono font. Each remains licensed under its own terms, which are included with it or available from its publisher. This licence applies only to the original work of the copyright holder and does not restrict any right those terms grant.
The Software processes student responses locally in your browser. This licence grants no rights over student information. The privacy policy published with the Software describes what is and is not collected and forms part of these terms.
The Software is an independent tool. It is not produced, endorsed or supported by the NSW Education Standards Authority. Its marking output assists a teacher's judgement and is not an official result.
To the extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, and the copyright holder is not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use, including any marking outcome. Nothing in this licence excludes a right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
This licence ends automatically if you breach it. Access to the broker service may be suspended or withdrawn at any time. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete every copy you hold.
This licence is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
